I'm trying to modify my templates to fit the clients layout requirements, but I cannot seem to figure out how to achieve something. please view these pages:

As you can see the main content area is a different height dependent on the content and the right column remains the same height. Under the main content is the 'footer' area but this moves depending on the height of the content article. What I'm trying to achieve is to position the footer area so it is always in the bottom left corner of the page no matter the height of the article content.

I've attached the tpl file I have in my template showing the setup I currently have.

Can anyone shed any light on how to achieve locking the 'footer' area to the bottom left? I've tried position:absolute but it does not seem to work correctly.
