I use the Off-canvas style for collapse navigation
As the megamenu wraps on some devices (for example on the Ipad), in my opinion it would be better if the Off-canvas navigation were shown instead of the full megamenu.
My question is how to have the full control at my discretion, enabling the collapse or not for the specific devices.
Thank's a lot in advance for your help.

Hi again,

I have checked your site. For now, you only active Off-canvas sidebar in Mobile, I see it working properly : http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/720/0542483494.jpg
In the image you attached, the problem happened in small layout (Tablet), not sure it's fixed now? If you want me to help you, please enable it in small layout or you can pm me your site admin url and account, I will enable and help you fix it.

Gardner.

Hi guys,

Thank you PH for your useful suggestion ;)
@sgiobbio: could you please share your site URL here and we can help you with some CSS. The issue, I think is just style issue so it should be fixed with CSS.

Hi,

You can try this for a new breakpoint :

http://www.t3-framework.org/discussions/change-nav-collapse-breakpoint.html

If you want some explanations :

In variable.less, you have this :

// Point at which the navbar stops collapsing
@grid-float-breakpoint: @screen-sm-min;

In navbar.less you have this :

.navbar {
@media (min-width: @grid-float-breakpoint) {
}
}

To make it short, it means "when the screen is larger than @grid-float-breakpoint, element with the class navbar will appear". If you change the value of @grid-float-breakpoint in variables.less, then the navbar will disapear when you want. If you put "@grid-float-breakpoint: @screen-md-max;" instead of " @grid-float-breakpoint: @screen-sm-min;",
the navbar will disapear in screen with a width under 1199px, because "@screen-md-max: (@screen-lg-min - 1);", and "@screen-lg-min; = 1200px;".

Is that ok for you ?

Polo

Dear Friends,
could you explain (with an example or a little tutorial) how to create my own breakpoints in order to hide the full megamenu on certains screens, leaving only the off-canvas navigation?
I suppose the correct file to operate on is: \templates\t3_bs3_blank\less\variable.less

Hi,

I think you can change the breakpoint in /export/telem/www/templates/t3_bs3_blank/less/variables.less

for example, if you want to make the megamenu disapear under 1200px width, then put :

@grid-float-breakpoint: @screen-md-max;

instead of

@grid-float-breakpoint: @screen-md-min;

Then compile less to css !

Bye,

Polo

Edit: you can also create your own breakpoint if you want.

Thank you Gardner for your replay.
But I have still the same problem that I tried to describe.
In fact, I know how to enable the off-canvas for specific layouts, but when it is enabled, the appearance of megamenu should be disabled.
This is the task that I can not do.
Perhaps we need to work on the file variables.less in templates/t3_bs3_blank/less?

Hi Sgiobbio,

You can configure to display Off-canvas sidebar in specific responsive layout. In the template style manager, open the Layout tab > Responsive Layout and select the supported responsive layout, enable or disable the off-canvas in the current layout then save the setting.

You can find more info at: http://www.t3-framework.org/documentation/menu-system.html#off-canvas
