For the most part I've used Wordpress and Drupal and this is my first Joomla site. I'm so lost on home to assign a style/layout to certain pages using the T3 framework.
Can you be more specific on what you are trying to achieve?
With t3, you can assign layouts that are pre-defined using the "Theme Magic" system from the Template Manager. To get, for example, a layout that has a main content area on the left and a sidebar on the right, you can assign modules to the position "sidebar2" on the t3_blank template. Then you can go into the backens and adjust the dimensions of the sidebar and content area using the Theme Magic.
1. Create a Template Style (or using existing one)
2. Open the template Style and assign the layout file in Layout tab, you can assign a color (theme) in Theme tab also.
3. Create a menu item
4. Assign the template style of the menu item to the template style above.
If a menu item does not assign a template style, it will use the default template style.
