Resolved Removed submenu but dropdown still shows.

I had a 2nd level menu item with submenu items. I removed those submenu items but the 2nd level menu item still shows the carrot icon and a 1-2px slide out to the right where the submenu would be. Why is this still showing like it has submenus when it doesn't? How can I fix this.

I have tried to "rebuild" the menu table in Joomla but that did not work.

I just fixed this. In the backend I noticed that you can turn on and off the submenu per item in the Template Manager > Megamenu section. I set this menu item to no and it resolved the issue, not sure why this isn't done automatically when all submenus are removed though.
